  • 1 pie plate, 10 inches or 26 cm in diameter
  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 small mixer


Preparation

  1. To prepare the pastry dough combine the flour and butter (cut into small pieces), salt and sugar. Mix with half a glass of water until a ball forms and let sit 20 minutes

  2. Prepare the applesauce: in a small saucepan cook 2 apples, cut into small pieces, with the sugar, a little water, and the cinnamon sticks or vanilla pod (split open) for 15 minutes over low heat (or 8 minutes in the microwave) then stir the sauce

  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C)
  4. Spread the pastry dough into the pie pan and prick with a fork. Pour a layer of applesauce on the bottom of the dough.

  5. Arrange the 3 remaining apples, cut into thin slices, at the bottom of the pie pan.

  6. Sprinkle with sugar according to taste

  7. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 30 minutes.
