  1. Wash and peel the fruit with a knife
  2. Slice the fruit then cut into cubes and add the cubes to the bowl.
  3. Don't stir the salad or you'll crush the fruit.
  4. Sprinkle with sugar and, if desired, add a small glass of rum or kirsch to the bowl
  5. Let the fruit macerate in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 hours.
